pressure testing new install

Hi all,
I am going to install a complete system using JG Speedfit pipework and fittings so Im reading up on the pressure testing procedures and come across this statement which i find confusing.
"the whole system is subjected to the test
pressure by pumping for 30 minutes,
after which the test continues for 90
minutes without further pumping"
Now call me anything you like but surely if i Pump for 30 minutes the resulting pressure is going to be excessive to the point of explosion or am i missing something here
thanks in advance

They are talking of hydrolic not air.
Hire a test bucket for the day and pump it up to around 10bar after you have filled the system and removed most air.
DO not have the radiators or boiler connected as they will blow at that pressure
