Bath/shower mixer tap problem
Dec 27th, 2011, 9:49pm

Hi All,

My mixer tap has stopped working correctly, the shower section was 'blocked off' prior to christmas and a new one will be sorted soon in the new year.
rather stupidly, i forgot there was an issue with the shower and tried to switch it from bath to shower, now when i run the tap (either or both at the same time) water tries to escape from the shower pipe connection.
i have removed the pipe and been rather suprised to see a 5 pence piece was used to 'block off' the shower.
i have tried to put this back on and tighten but the end result is the same.
i'm guessing i need to reset the main valve to bath before blocking off the shower - how do i do this?
when i remove the shower pipe all i can see is 2 holes either side (hot/cold) of a solid piece of metal.
any help will be greatly appreciated!

I have posted a picture of what i can see once the shower pipe is removed.
