Staining cement after it has set?
Aug 4th, 2014, 7:53pm

We recently had some raised garden beds built with copings on top.
The copings and bricks are grey but the cement (which used locally-sourced & very red sand) is a sort of pink colour.
Can the cement joints in between the copings be stained in situ? (I don't mind painting carefully!) - or do I have to rake out and re-point with coloured mortar?
I know it would have been better to have stained the mortar when the build was done, but my wife hadn't decided to have "grey" joints at that point!
I have seen stain liquids for concrete, would this work?
Anyone any advice?
Ta very much in advance Huh

Not used them myself but there are several companies that make brick and mortar tinting kits for matching purposes..
