Boiler and room thermostat

we have a heats lave 20/25 and a horstmann drt2. We have been in the house for seven weeks and cannot get the systems to work together. The boiler light is on but is not firing up (it worked okay up to recently) the room thermostat seems to be in permanent override (the heater icon is on but no programme is showing). Can anyone advise how to disable the override on the room thermostat and would that be the cause of the boiler not firing

Tell us more about the boiler model please.
Is it gas or oil and what is the GCNo.
The DR2 is just a stat that controls the temperature through several time zones, I can send you the manual if your gmail account can take small files.
