Thinking aloud here again.....

Just wondering whether a new DIY forum relating to appliances might be appropriate? E.g. washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, fridges and freezers, perhaps even PCs.

I've been a subscriber to the uk.d-i-y usenet group and there are a considerable number of enquiries posted on that forum relating to broken fan belts, leaking door seals, etc. None of the current forums are entirely appropriate for that sort of issue.

And SF haven't got one of these forums either.....

Yes i suppose they could.  I think having too many forums makes it a bit harder to find what you want.  

Maybe could be added to the first welcome post in DIY electrical that you can ask about washing machines etc etc.

Not a bad idea at all HandyMac. Do we have anyone who knows about washing machines, fridges etc (appliances)?


I advertise locally and I probably get 50/50 calls relating to "..can ya fix me fridge?" type calls. I don't, so there is hope come part p when they get stuff me paying em 'membership' money or 'blackmail' - coz then I can
