Cooker hood
Nov 19th, 2004, 9:43pm

Have just bought a Baumatic cooker hood and the instalation instructions say: IMPORTANT This appliance must NOT be earthed.
It`s not a problem not to earth it but was just wondering why they say it is so important NOT to earth it..

It will be double insulated so puting an earth into it could introduce a hazard to the situation

It is likely to be double insulated, and therefore no earth is required.
