Mozilla Firefox

If you've got Firefox and it's a bit sluggish sometimes, try the following. I can vouch for the fact it makes a big difference  Wink

1. Type  " about:config " into the address
bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following
entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

2. Alter the entries as follows (by double-clicking on
them):

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some
number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at
once.

3. Right-click anywhere and select: New-> Integer.
Name it " nglayout.initialpaint.delay " and set its
value to "0". This value is the amount of time the
browser waits before it acts on information it
recieves.

Now shut down your browser and reopen.

Now, any idea how to stop chatzilla opening as irc:// protocol handler????

i changed every irc related boolean variable to false and all the strings to blank characters. still tries to connect to irc links thru chatzilla instead of my default client(mIRC).

I've even set my XP defaults to mIRC and made sure that the chrome and gopher protocols are not handled by mozilla.

Bloody annoying.

Can't help you there I'm afraid, Billy.

I can follow instructions  but I haven't a clue what it means or what I'm doing.

My mate helps me out with computery stuff; those are his instructions in the top post. He's a bit clever, with ologies and stuff, and tries to explain but it's way over my head  Grin

For those that are technically minded there are a couple of other sites for Firefox tweaks:
