hi
can anyone give me a link to the criteria/regs relating to fitting a non-condensing boiler within the 3 month works in progress effective from 1/4/05.
I have advised my plumber (corgi registered) there is a 3 month time frame for works in progress but he wants to see this in writing.
note my kitchen work (where the boiler is to be fitted) has been ongong since early march
many thanks

All this type of information is available from the Office of the Deputy Prime Misister website.
Specifically
here is the link to the paper you are looking for
(.PDF format)

Why not fit an HE boiler and save on the gas bill, if replacing an old boiler there really is no excuss for not fitting a condensing model.
And in any case the system should be up-graded to the new regs.

Yes as Scruff says there really is no(almost no) reason not to fit a new HE boiler.
See
this page
for the assessment procedure and
this page
for information for housholders. (both PDF format)
For a full list of all fuel and power conservation regs(part L) building regs visit....
http://www.odpm.gov.uk/stellent/groups/odpm_buildreg/documents/divisionhomepage/...
all the aforementioned docs are available from that page.

Fit a Viessmann Vitodens 200, Viessmann have been making condensing boilers for years and are far more advanced in their technology then the British manufacturers.
Plumbers who say condensing boilers do not work usually do not understand how they work, if they are installed correctly with the right controls they work fine.
