If you press the printer icon,it will print to the last printer selected - instead,go to "file" in  the top left corner of the screen, and select "print" from there.
This should open a print dialogue box, where you can check if there is a drop-down menu to select different printers/fax options.

As above, and if there isn't a fax printer installed then have a look at upgrading the drivers for your modem. AFAIK, the fax software is installed as part of a voice\fax modem driver package.

I believe you can get third party drivers and apps to send faxes from your PC, but I've never got any to work properly. Personally, I don't send faxes, I just receive them and I do this with a free service that forwards them as emails to me.

Ah, well then, could be a bit of a problem there then. I tried to get some software to send faxes to an IP fax server but it wouldn't work. The only way to do it is to get a modem in your PC for sending faxes. Modems are only a few quid.

i'v got winfaxpro 10 which is quite good but made by symantec, i've had to retain the 56k modem just for the fax program
i can send faxes easy enough but as it shares my phone line i have to be here to open the program to accept them
mrs vi doesnt know her way around this & usually has to try & phone them or me to sort it
