Concrete/stone adhesive....
Aug 31st, 2005, 10:51pm

...is there such a thing as concrete or stone adhesive...I've been asked to look at a section of lintel which broke off whilst drillng...I don't know how bad the damage is yet..but I suspect it may only need to be a cosmetic repair!

Have used epoxy wood filler several times to repair chipped stone window cills that were going to be painted. If you just want to glue the lump back on then you could use a tube of the epoxy for resin anchors, don't put it on too thick as the lump of concrete will stick out, rub down with a carborundum stone once the adhesive has set.

I've repaired chipped concrete with the original plastic padding (hard) and also a strong mix using small agregate with added PVA waterproof wood glue.

..thanks everyone, have been to see the damage and it was a hairline crack on the upright "lintel" if thats the word of an outside doorway stone post. The crack appeared when drilling for a grabrail...it literally was a hairline crack...couldn't even get a fingernail in, but managed to scrape some silicone into it. The doorway is well protected from the weather (a plant at the side needs watering even when it rains...the owner says!)

Thanks once again...
...brilliant forum..especially for us who can't get hold of those busy tradespeople for quotes on small jobs and/or advice!
