Another boiler question
Sep 4th, 2005, 10:10pm

Are there any combi boilers other than Worcester Bosch that use radio frequency controls? I ask because I was at a friends house today and their programmer is wire free. No cables dragged through the house or chased into walls. That appeals to me although I understand WB combi's are a bit on the expensive side.

Any boiler can be wireless controlled. The remote control (programmable thermostat) is linked to a base station which is hard wired to the boiler. The remote control and base station are part of the one package.

Thanks for the reply. So theoretically a Baxi 105HE Plus can be controlled in this way. More research required. I've been looking at WB boilers and I have more questions. More later.

I've been to the Baxi web site and can find no reference to RF controls and they don't appear to allow e-mail enquiries. Can anyone supply any further info before I have to make a presumably not very cheap phone call.

spongebob, I should have said that the wireless units do not need to be made by the same manufacturer as boiler. Look at any of the major control manufacturers - Honeywell, Drayton, Danfoss, Horstmann, Satchwell, Sunvic, Siemens.

Thanks for that Chris. Although now that I know that set up is possible I'll leave the final decision to whoever installs the damn thing.
