People rarely change the topic line in replys, and I bet most people didn't even now they could!!

Perhaps we should look more at stopping people from changing the topic line, rather than extending the current mod, as a thread could look messy with loads of changed topic lines.

I actually believe it to be a little bug in YaBB that allows people to alter the topic line of a thread!?!

There is a way to stop the 'floating cursor' - it follows your mouse between boxes.

Maybe would be better to stop the topic line from being altered - no way you could type in it by mistake then!!

There's quite a few different flavours of forum that do it. I assume it's just a follow on of the fact that in emails and on usenet you can change the topic title whenever you want.

I'm quite happy with it being editable as I have never once, in all of the thousands of messages on usenet, in emails and on web forums, ever accidentaly written anything in the topic line. Maybe you should look at your hand-eye co-ordination SS. Wink

click reply to this alan, then move your mouse between the Subject box and the Message box, you'll see the cursor will automatically follow it even if you havent clicked the box.

This is a pain for those of us(me) who still look at the keys while typing as my optical mouse has been known to "move" on its own and half my rant goes in the subject box! lol

OK, ability to change subject/topic line remains - seems odd to be able to though ???

Floating mouse cursor no longer floats - you need to physically click the topic or message box to type.

BTK - optical mouse moving - my new one does - apparently you are not meant to use a mouse mat?!?

The great thing about opticals is not having to use mouse mats, unless you have a cheap mouse or stripey melamine desk surfaces that confuse the mouse  Roll Eyes
