Advice wanted for new rads.

Hi,
I am replacing all the old Radiators in a house I have just puchased ready for the installation of an Oil combi boiler.
Currently all the downstairs rads are burried in the concrete floor. The person that in installing the boiler recommends that I run all the new downstairs rads from 15mm pipe drops from the first floors.
This would involve 6 drops (and I guess 6 drain valves).
My question is do you thing it is worth doing or should I just run any new rads in this way?
Thanks
Mark.

Depends how old and the condition of the pipes, you could pressure test them, although re-placing sounds the best option.
Can't you position the rads back to back to reduce the drops, that way you could feed two rads from each 15mm drop.

Sorry about the typo, I am sure you knew I ment that the pipe work is burried
The pipe work seems sound but I am changing all the rads and the new ones are smaller because the old ones and panel rads and the new ones are Stelrad conpact (with convectors).
Unfortunatly all the rooms are separate so I would need six new drops.
Thanks
Mark.
