kp1512 GDPR opt-out	i Aug 28^th, 2006, 1:12pm Hi How much should I be paying for installaton of 6 x Door Frames and Doors? (Interior)? Just moved to a new house and the entire frames need to be removed and reinstalled with new ones plus doors...and wanted to know how much I should be paying? The frames and doors Id supply.... K

Thanks mate! So you can imagine my shock when I was told £1500!! lol. I nearly smacked him!!...I was expecting 2 days worse case £375!!....Im still getting over it!

I mean I was goign to provide him with the stuff....maximum that hed need to add aboev installaing it all was to come with me to a Builders Merchant / Wickes!

Im based in Essex, but even still!!

Any chippies in essex!!...I got a few thigs need doing inc 6 door frames, small cabinet etc!...

Well i am glad you didn't accept my quote then,Wouldn't have thought giving a quote would have resulted in a smack in the mouth Grin

Maybe it was not a straight forward job.In my house igot frames as opposed to linings and the head of the frame goes into the brickwork 3" eitherside ,and the fixings are 4" screws fixed into the back of the frameswith the screw heads into the mortar joints so it would make
anice mess taking one of them out.
All I can say is,if a price does not seem reasonable ask for a break down of the work to be done. IT MIGHT TURN OUT THAT £1500 IS CHEAP

How could you do all this in just 2 days even without the time wasting trip to Wickes?

I would charge around £1200 + vat assuming there are no major issues with the installation.

ok thats where the spec sheet comes in Wink

i was assuming old linings removed [a basic first fix job] Roll Eyes

install new linings nice and square hinge and lock jigs set up minor tinkering with a plane 2 to 2.5 hrs per door complete

archatraves and finnishing on as extra

and yes the dreaded £53 vat Grin

and definatly no shed visit Cool

and yep i probably am to cheap
