Dec 17th, 2006, 11:08pm

Yo! Big_all... you saying about that 18v drill driver duo kit!!!

well ........had a right result in the ol B & Q the other day!
got this ... http://www.dewalt.co.uk/products.asp?mktid=2&lid=1&catno=DC5PAKB&sid...

but with the 15 min charger by mistake( silly lady!)  for a total of £396.71

RESULT!!!!!

silly buggers had put ALL power tools on offer, with a min 20% off , the offer should have been a max 20% off only B & Q tools!!

ooops!

and when they went to the stock room and filled it up  ( the black carry case,) she ( the manageress!) came out and said!, do i know what the chager looks like! so me being me stated a square black thing with Dewalt on it!, !! and low and behold, paid for my little box at the till , manageress in tow to check my goods are all there!

opened box, ...me eyes nearly popped out me head like!

not only has she put in all the "correct" tooling, Xp hammer drill/driver, jigsaw, lamp, skill saw and sabre/recip saw... she has put in the 15min charger, 2 blades for each item, (6 total , she also put in the 3-0 amp batteries!!!!

when i looked on the carton cover it shows the 5 piece tools, listing model number, then states CHARGER and 2 x batteries!! , with no model number , or anything!!!!

so she just took what i had described!!!!!

am i chuffed!!

ONLY BOUGHT IT AS A BACK UP DUE TO THE APPRENTICE!!

...

well chuffed to say the least only went in there to buy a waste trap for me boys sink ........... good job i had me company card on me!

chuffed as punch!!

'bout ime i had a drop of good fortune as they say!!!!

nice thing about it is they are all the NEW XP tooling! and the real good bit is they were sourced from the states! not the naff German plastic!! bodied tools!

so Cheers B  & Q!!!!!!

must admit, i told me boy i am not going into theat particular branch for a while!! in case they want the batteries and charger back!!!!

when i got to site i told the guy i was working for that day and he shot off round there only to find none left!! , there was 9 left when i took mine! les than an hour before hand!!!

even my normal Dewalt supplier reckoned that B & Q are making a LOSS on them at that price! and a fairly heavy one at that!

ho hum!!!

TUFF!!!! they should watch what they are selling things at!!

The person who sold the house I bought had won the lottery.

I think they have left some good luck behind.

Not only did we get it cheap as they wanted a quick sale, but every time we go to the DIY store we get something for free!

Last week we bought some posh curtain poles, paint etc.  I held all the curtain poles while they scanned the paint......they missed scanning the poles - LOVELY.

This week, at wickes, I bought some feather edge board and treated timber for a small fence on the other side of the house, also put a flatpacked timber gate on the trolley.  They missed the gate - £49 to me!

Going to start buying a lottery ticket from now on!

Time for my good luck story then  Grin

I was in a builders merchants and among other things I had leant one of those 4' wide brooms (with the metal stays) against the counter as I needed one but wanted to know the price first.

The eeejit behind the counter just said "You want that broom handle too mate" (that's all he could see of the broom from his side of the counter)

"er.......yes please......"  I stuttered  Embarrassed

Signed for it but now had to make the awkward walk toward the door with this gigantic broom I hadn't paid for  Grin

Luckily the eeejit was distracted by another customer so I was in the van and away pretty darn quick  Grin

Very satisfying  Cheesy Cheesy
