Tricky problem, any ideas?
Jun 14th, 2007, 12:09am

I have a Freecom external HD on my main pc but it's suddenly stopped working.  However, it works ok on another pc I have.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software, changed cables and usb ports, all to no avail.

My pc says "No Freecom Devices Found" when I try to open the software even though it is plugged in and attached via usb.

My pc doesn't seem able to recognise the external HD.

Yet this HD works fine on another pc  Huh

What do I do now?

Try a different port - front or rear.  Re-install USB drivers.

I tried different ports, nothing worked  Sad  So I went out a bought a new Maxtor 320gb external drive for only £65.  This needs no drivers or software, worked straight out of the box.

The old Freecom will be used on one of my kids pcs.

Still can't work out what was wrong  Undecided

Plud it in and it works a treat  Cool
