skirting board probs
Sep 23rd, 2007, 8:06pm

Hi all

Im sure this is an obvious one to you all but I have a 1.6m piece of wooden skirting board to affix to the side of a bath panel (MDF)

I was just gonna put some pilot holes in and screw it onto the side panel but the side of the panel is not straight so the skirting bows out when you offer it to the side panel..

How should i sort it out?? Huh

assuming the mdf is sunken in the centre

you could try starting each end with slighty longer screws than nesesery[35mm]and pull them progresivly together as you work along
just make shure your pilot holes in the skirting are larger than the screw shafts/threads

you need to decide wether screwing the skirting on would hinder the removal of the bath pannel for leaks or maintanance

I'd be tempted to ditch the MDF and replace it with something else. MDF doesn't like water much.
