Oak Angle/Corner Bead
Nov 23rd, 2007, 2:29pm

Afternoon,

I'm trying to get hold of a bit of light oak angle bead - about 20mm x 20mm external size.  Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Does anyone know of any likely suppliers in the North Tyneside / Newcastle area?  I only need a single 8 foot length, otherwise I could get the local timber merchant to make me some up.

Cheers,

Andy.

Andy,

Couldn’t you make a bit? I made myself some small bits saved lots of money not having to buy it,
Obviously I needed to buy myself a 2kw router to do the job  Wink

I did think of that actually.  I've got a cheap router, so it's not out of the question.  I'd much rather just buy a bit though!

take a large section of oak say 4x2 par[95x20] mould the edge you want then run through the circular saw to cut off the moulding

if its an "L" shape mouldingyou can easily do it on a table saw if it has a seperate gaurd and riving knife if not a spot of cleaning is in hand  Roll Eyes Wink

Cheers for the link big_all.  I'll have a look at the site.  Failing that, I'll be getting the router out of its box....
