Tiling onto new plaster

I've read that you should wait 4 weeks after having a wall plastered before you can tile it!! Is this true? (I hope not)

Its true, for a wall that has a bonding coat and finish, more if the bonding is deep or its been dubbed out. If its just a skim then 2-3 days if the house is warm & dry.
If the new plaster has been heavily polished then give it a brush down then prime with BAL APD 1:1 with water.

Anything I can do to tile onto a patch of half-inch thick bonding I put on yesterday. I need to tile it on Sunday!

Actually, it's only a short bit on an external corner up to a skim plaster bead. Maybe I should bash it out and layer it up with some tile adhesive instead?

If its just a small patch I wouldn't worry too much. A bit of extra heat and/or a dehumidifer will help. Also tiling straight onto bonding is not ideal next time skim over it or use one-coat.
If you do hack it out then make sure you use a powdered adhesive as ready mixed will not cure properly if put on too thick

Thanks Jason. I always use powdered adhesive - I hate the ready mixed stuff.
