CWatters Super Member Offline "Daddy fick it" says James Posts: 5150 Total Thanks: 58 For This Post: 0 Gender:	Bricks sucking water from mortar Mar 29^th, 2009, 12:40pm I'm laying some Audley Antique bricks and they are sucking the water out of the mortar like crazy even though I'm wetting them. Next lot I do I plan to wet them more but is it possible to overdo it? Is acceptable to soak the bricks in a bucket for an hour or two for example

JerryD GDPR opt-out Total Thanks: 58 For This Post: 0	Re: Bricks sucking water from mortar Reply #1 - Mar 29^th, 2009, 10:05pm Yes, sometimes that is needed, Trial and error is needed to test how long to soak the bricks for. Usually a soaking with a hose about ten minutes prior to laying is enough.
