Radiator Thermostat Problem
Dec 6th, 2010, 7:20pm

Hey guys, I am having a problem with my thermostat on my radiator, i turned it down to 0 and now its stuck and cannot turn it back up, I was wondering how I can fix this. Ive been looking around and it seems i can remove the thermostat and then hammer a pin lightly to fix it but id like a second opinion. Would i need to drain the system to do this? thermostat

Thanks in advance,
Joe

heeelllooo and welcome pantiome Smiley Smiley Smiley

turning it to zero should push the pin in the valve shutting off the flow

no need to drain

i personally would turn to 6/ max unscrew the head from the brass body and "play" with it and see what's sticking once you are happy its free oil the pin on top off the brass leave for 5 mins then wipe clean
then make shure the valve is set to max/6 to make it easier to fit making shure you dont cross thread as you refit
