Bath tap swinging after trying to remove headgear
Jun 12th, 2014, 8:02am

Hi I am a complete newby to DIY plumbing. I tried yesterday to remove headgear from by bath tap to replace washer. I just couldn't get enough leverage and the tap is now moving - does that mean I have damaged the pipework? It's impossible to get under the bath and I am now worried that I may cause a leak if I use the tap. Please advise!!

Hi,

Depends on the pipes, if plastic you probably get away with it.

You'll need to buy/borrow a tap wrench to do any nuts up, alternative is get a plumber if you know a good one.
