I have had a good search and can't find any regs concerning sighting lighting switches in a kitchen or utility. Can anyone enlighten me.

no regs mate unless its new build that im aware of.
if newbuild then switches have to be 1200mm up.

make sure it has a proper box tho, architrave switches would be ok if you want somthing small, you can use that flush
