I want to take away a servery hatch from my kitchen to livingroom. It is on a single brick wall I want to leave the wall flat in the kitchen but leave aome recessed shelving on living room side
any suggestions

Brick it back up with the bricks on the side rather than flat wouldnt give you much that way or you could chip away a couple of inches around the opening all the way around enough to dab a plaster board flush on that side so giving a little more depth the other.

Hardboard is narrower than plasterboard.

but you cant skim over hardboard and feather it in to the plaster ont tuther side.

job done
did it with plasterboard managed to trim away enogh of the wood on the four insides of hatch to fix 2
it looks good jus needs painted on living room side and skimmed over on kitchen side(plasterer coming to skim kitchen ceiling on wednesdayt)
but best of all she likes it and is happy
could be my lucky night
