[/quote] Yeah, course it can, you can wire anything to a fused plug! The fuse will let you know if its safe or not! lol!! (waiting for BAS to reply!)

Right, thanks,
I am having problems terminating the 185mm 2 core cable into the back of the plug. Is it ok to leave the cord grip out or will this constitute a potentially dangerous situation?

Is it acceptable to dig a hole in the floor immediately below the socket so that I can achieve the correct bending radius for the cable when plugging in?

I've got my 4+kW welder working off a 13A plug.

Once I'd removed the 13A fuse and soldered fusewire across the terminals it worked fine...
