what are you trying to get it to go to hotmail or something when you hit it?  Or are you trying to open a mail program?

In the first case if you get your email off a website, you would need to get a browser and set the homepage to your email, then set that browser as your default email client.  I think that would be the only way.(although it has been known for me to be wrong about something!!)

In the second case, you would need to set up your email client(outlook etc.) to be default and it should just work. My hotkeys open whatever client is default automatically.

is talk21 accessed from a website, or does it have its own client?  If accessed through a website you would need to designate the hotkey to a hyperlink. No idea how to do this without coding into some registry entry or something. Does your keyboard have a settings thingy in control panel, may be able to assign meanings there.
Is the email account POP3 or http(web-based)? If its a pop account then you can set up outlook to access the email, downloading into outlook from the web if ya like. Then since its opening outlook anyway itll at least have the right account in it.

There is normally a bit of software in the control panel for keyboards, in this there is a section caled hotkeys.

You can assign each button to do something from here.
