PAT courses and insurance
Apr 7th, 2005, 2:21pm

My son is thinking of going on a PAT testing course so that he can test appliances for our local churches etc., for a nominal fee, as the cost of having this done commercially is prohibitive if you have anything like (say) amateur dramatics.  Our youth group alone has well over a hundred items which would have to be tested!

There seem to be lots of courses out there - anyone recommend a good one?

Also, what does he do about arranging insurance - if he is going to do this as a service he needs to carry his own and we do not know where to start looking.  Anyone know of a suitable firm?

May thanks

Surely public liability is the one you need, tailored for his trade, could try Norwich union, but there not the cheapest  Roll Eyes
