Part P and testing
Apr 10th, 2005, 10:25am

Hi,
part P puts some limitations on what can be done by an electrician that is not registered, one of the things he can't do, is work and make changes in the CU.  The minor electrical installation form, require testing that you can't do without working and taking out wires in the CU, can someone explain?

Hi Albert.

There is not, so far as I am aware, any limitation on testing. So you can isolate, open up the cu and do your tests as before.

What you can't do without notification is to add new circuits or alter the means of protection of existing circuits.
