Plumbing for an annexe
May 4th, 2005, 11:23pm

I've been asked to quote to install plumbing in an annexe.
I.e new kitchen and bathroom.
The customer is clear of what he wants, aren't they always!!
He wants to pick up the cold mains feed from an adjacent cloakroom.
From this he want to run cold water to;
kitchen sink
washing machine
ariston st100 water heater
bath and wash basin
toilet
electric shower.
He wants to run all of the wastes into the existing soil pipe in the cloakroom. Undecided
The toilet is to be fitted with a macerator Cry( tried talking him into digging up the floor to lay in a new soil pipe, but the answer was no!!

My questions are;
Is it feasible to run the electric shower off of this t'd mains supply( i'm sure that it should have it's own separate supply from the mains)
Is it possible/within regs to run all this waste through one pipe to the soil in the cloakroom.
how easy is it to commission the ariston?
I think thats everything, but i t is getting late!! Grin

Is it feasible to run the electric shower off of this t'd mains supply - sure, it's mains, only need a seperate connection when tank fed.

Is it possible/within regs to run all this waste through one pipe to the soil in the cloakroom. - well that depends on what size the soil pipe is and what type of waste its carrying atm,  does the cloakroom have a toilet in it already, if so and the pipe is 4" / 110mm at least it should be good.

how easy is it to commission the ariston? -  easy, flush pipework to get rid of flux/debris etc, fill heater, make sure it comes out the outlet and nowhere else! lol There will be full commissioning instructions with the heater.

good deal, thats a good way to see if the drains are seperate greywater/foulwater or combined, for the purposes of fitting a toilet you know the drain is capable of carrrying it now.

I'd try to get him to change his mind on the saniflow idea, if the WC waste is reasonably cose it would be much MUCH better to use that method, especially for future maintenance etc. a little extra work now could save lots extra later, course maybe he likes cutting 22mm sh*t filled pipes.....
