To change your avatar click on Profile above and select from a list, or upload your own. I think there's instructions there in the profile screen.

As for posting pics, you have to get them hosted yourself and link to them from here, (unless you're 'special' ). Surround them in IMG tags, i.e.

{img}http://www.website.co.uk/picturelocation.jpg{/IMG};

(Replace { and } with [ and ] )

http://www.mypage.com/mypic.gif

I don't think yo need the img tags

change mypage.com/mypic. gif or jpg to the site where the picture is stored and then paste the link into the box.

ok Howie, here's the full blown instructions for putting your own pic up.

1.) Follow this link to a good host.
2.) Click the "Browse" button on that website and find your picture on your computer.
3.) Click "Host It!"
4.) Go to the second last edit box on the page that appears labeled "Direct link to image"
5.) Copy the URL shown there.
6.) Come back to ATT and click "Profile" at the top.
7.) Check the checkbox next to "I have my own pic" and put the copied URL in that edit box.
8.) Scroll to the bottom and click "Change Profile"

Job Done.

PS Lurch you are right in that you need the tags for posting, but not for your screen avatar

If we allowed everyone to host their own insanely detailed, byte eating avatars, the site woul dbe slowed down.

Hosting pics elsewhere, and linking to them will not slow down our server or connection.

AND by the way BTK ya might have blown ya nose before ya took that piccy!
