Seen similar but on a 5 year old hob - took the beast apart wiped/cleaned everything with tissue - not happened since - Best of luck

Will do as you suggest over thgis coming w/e unless...unless... the weather is nice in which case I will have a BBQ and pop a few bottles of red instead
