He is not around to ask at the moment. he will sort the problem - probably onto it this minute!

You can type any smilies if you know their shortcuts.
i.e. : ) =

; ) =

; D =

etc by missing out the spaces.
out of those special characters there is only one that isn't part of the normal windows character set for which there are short cuts.

The £ is part of the normal character set and the ¹ ² ³ ° & µ be done holding the Alt key down while typing 251 for ¹, 253 for ², 252 for ³, 248 for ° & 230 for µ
Alt + 0177 gives ±
These have to be done using the numeric keypad.

I cant find the 6th character in the normal windows set.
