Hi deefadog,
The only proper way to do this is by removing the unit!!!!
Even though it's "fitted" the fixings will be there, in an adjacent cupboard, or behind a decor panel, maybe have screw caps on+screws up into the worktop. Is the plinth part of the unit ? usually is on a corner unit.
If you can remove it, it's just a case of unscrewing the old, use as a template to cut the new (carefully now) iron on some new edging and refit, you may need to shop around to find a match (looks like medium oak from the piccys) but not all medium oaks are the same, get the edging strip from the same range.
Then take the dog to the dentist Grin
If you really can't get the unit out you could bodge it be cutting the shelves out, putting timber bearers on and fitting new shelves to that. I wouldn't go down that route though. trust me the unit will come out.
Hope this helps.

Mal

as chippy mall says
youll probably have pull the unit out to release the shelve

is this the natural finnish or a painted finnish!!!

if it is a painted finnish added afterwards i would be tempted at least  to put a radius on the corner taking off half the dammage depth with a jigsaw  that would give you a clean front edge for iron on edging
this would then give you a level area to fill

if it didnt look right you would then have to replace with new components
all depends on what exactly you want
but worth a try in my opinion but only if its a finnish addded later not if its the origional finnish

You could cover the shelves with 6mm ply panels, fill the damage with a 2 part filler (it won't show as it's underneath the ply) then cover the edge with an edging strip.

Thanks for the replys, I have had a really good look at this, and there is not screws on the inside of the panel.

If you can see from the top pic, the shelves seem to be screwed from behinf the end panel, but the end panel is attached somehow the the unit end panel, so i have 2 end panels stuck together! I can't see how they are joined?? maybe it has been bonded?

Anyway there is movment on the shelves, could i simply appli pressure and snap them off, the cut new and put a strip of wood underneath and bond it?

The plastic type vynal cover is light wood and this has been stained green and then varnished, as i tried to remove the green once, but it was a bad idea Smiley

I like the ply wood idea! Though, but i feel like snapping them out!

Hi again deefadog
If the unit has another unit next to it, try taking the door and hinge plates off on the side next to damaged unit. I used to fix units together by hiding screws behind hinges (looks tidier)

If you can't get it apart like chippymal suggests I wouldn't pull them out. They may seem lose but will probably bring large sections of the back out with them if you try to force it.

My dog ate a really big hole in the wall, so we covered it in chilli paste but she soon got the taste for it and carried on.

And we did feed her as well Grin

Top marks ChippyMal, yep the screws were hidden behind the hinges and behind where the shelves were!

Got the bugger out!

Now can i get that same finish wood, chip board with the grain effect? i'll have to stain it green and varnish it then to match the finish!

Anyone know where i can go?

Thanks
