ok my way of tackling this would be padd out the other half by 2mm full width as its a stair or if its a floor dropping gradualy1mm per plank any reduction mid plank[edges equaly supported]
i would also glue the mismached planks together making shure the joint would be up to the heavy wear and tare of the stairs[at least 30%joint surface area glue contact]

i did think about shimming up the floor to meet the bullnose, might just do that actually, will save me hours of whittling! lol

heres the i need a thicknesser version Wink


as quite a complicated and near impossible task
the only machine that is cappable off removing 2mm is a planer thicknesser
no other option is avalable
this machine is recomended from this shop as its quite near kilwining
