hi i have cut top of flight newel post at the top half of my landing
what is the most secure way of fixing new newel post to remaining stump

The Richard Burbidge instructions have a nice simple idea. Use Cascamite or better as the adhesive as this fills any voids in the hole and makes it all very rigid.
