Elderly neighbour has two phones , base one connected to phone line in bedroom, and power supply, 2nd powered from mains in kitchen,now wants additional phone in lounge.Will third phone work OK from base phone in bedroom without phone point in lounge but powered same as kitchen phone

If the lounge phone will be the same sort of distance from the bedroom as the lounge is, then all will be fine.

You will need to register the new handset you purchase with the base, but this will be explained in the manual you get with the new handset.

Make sure the new handset is compatible.
