Even though i have set Full Set entry Time (sec) to 30 it only gives me about 3-5 seconds before sounding alarm.
Conducted walk test and opening closing door activates the zone ok.
In the texacom R8 installation manual i can't see any other timer.........

Could it be i have to walk passed a PIR to get to keypad and that is setting it off?

EDIT: Now set the PIR i walk passed to inhibit entry rather than guard and works ok.
What exactly is the difference between inhibit entry and guard?

Also would like advice on how i set the system for part set, i.e have downstairs PIRs and door contacts active at night

Inhibited entry is what you need to set any PIR to that is on the entry route.  This should only really be the hall detector.  Any other detector should really be positioned to avoid this.

Any zone set to inhibited entry will respond as normal (guard) when the system is set, but will be ignored during the entry timer period.

Hi I'm trying to set this alarm system to delay when I go downstairs in the morning after part setting it during the night (at the moment the sensor triggers alarm as soon as I get close to the bottom of the stairs).

Any ideas how I would go about this please? Didn't set the system up so appreciate if any thoughts can be a little bit idiot proofed  Smiley

Do you know the engineer code?  Can you obtain it from whoever set it up?  Without this, you cannot easily make the changes.  A full reset would be required to default the engineer code, and then the whole system re-programming.
