Electric shower wiring burned out
Dec 19th, 2012, 1:35pm

The neutral between the connector for the supply and and heating chamber is burnt to a cinder - just bits of black dust and melted plastic. I have had comment that this could be due to low water pressure but can this be true? Or even partly true? Surely the low pressure cut out should operate if pressure is inadequate?

I could understand the element itself needing water to prevent it overheating but I'd be surprised if any other wire needed water for cooling.

My bet would be a loose connection?

Most common reason for these kind of problem is loose connection, which causes overheating at the connections or the insufficient size cable which causes overheating.
