is there any reg that demands the use of banjos or is earthing via the metal box considered acceptable?

i don't see how you can earth well without one, on a enameled box, without drilling hole and bolting trough the banjo ring, thats how we was taught, no idea about regs..

some people here call them that occasionaly too, call them earth ring, banjo, frying pan, daft vader etc
