Mitre saw angle checker
Aug 4th, 2004, 11:23am

I was watching 'The Great British Workshop' on Home & Leisure, where the presenter used a plastic hexagonal shaped object to check that his chop saw was set at the right angle, this object seemed to have all the usual angles 45, 22.5, 30, 90 etc... and seemed to be a very useful device, are any of you guys familiar with this device and if so would you know where I could possibly purchase one?

I think the gadget you are referring to is a Veritas table saw gauge.

You should be able to get one from BriMarc,
or possibly Rutlands or I think I saw one in the Axminster catalogue as well.

David Free was using the Trend ANGLEFIX® Mitre Guide £14.95 plus VAT from Trend
http://www.trendmachinery.co.uk/otheraccess/
It automatically halves the angle so you can set the saw to it.
Any Trend stockist should either stock it or can order one for you.

Ooops. just realised about the hexagonal. I remember seeing him using 2 different angle setters on different programmes.
I jumped to conclusions about the anglefix because I saw him using one on H&L one afternoon last week.
