Circular saw sharpening
Sep 20th, 2004, 8:54am

TCT circular saw blades go blunt sooner or later (or should that be sooner or sooner?) so what do folk do to resharpen them?  I cannot believe that the answer is to buy a new blade.

Thanks.

Look in the Yellow pages under saw regrinding, they charge so much per tooth, last time I took mine I think it was about 40p/tooth. It is definately not a diy job.

Depending on how bad they are and the quality of the blade you can normally resharpena blade 3-4 times.

Most good tool shops and some hire shops offer this service, my local one hase a weekly turnround.

As woodsmith says if its a decent blade with good size teeth you will get 4-5 regrinds out of it at about £10.00 a go, depending on number of teeth. If you only use cheap blades it may not be worth having them done.
