Rad not getting hot
Feb 8th, 2005, 7:34pm

Hi guys. Added a new rad to my sister in laws house today. They use the garage as a games room and wanted it heated.
The hall rad pipes go throught the garage. I T'd off the feed and return pipes for that rad.
The problem is that the new rad doesn't get hot!! Hot water reaches the TRV and some is obviously getting in to the rad cause there is a slight difference in temperature between the top and bottom of the rad.
Also the hall rad doesn't get as hot as the rest of the rads in the house.
Any ideas??

Cheers

If you have teed off 8m or 10mm size pipes you wasted your time, if you have teed off 15 mm pipes there should be no problem other than valves not open, air or dirt, take your pick.

more likely a balancing problem.  Balance the whole system and it should work fine.
