constant alerts on norton internet security
Apr 5th, 2005, 9:12pm

every 48hours i have in excess of 100 alerts from norton informing me that "High Risk, a remote system is attempting to access your computer"

(why 48 hours. Because that is the maximum length of time norton will let me block for)

the information/details is useless (how should i know if address 80.192.549???? etc, etc, etc is a legitamate or not) , i dont want to be asked i just want it stopped (without being asked)

to give you some idea i have had 17 such notifications while typing this, sorry it is now 22

I tried Norton once and took it off within days.
It uses too many resources to run slowing everything else down.

dirtydeeds,

Google found this....

http://www.derkeiler.com/Newsgroups/comp.security.firewalls/2004-04/0028.html

Quote:
On the main page, click on "Intrusion Detection". Then click on "configure" in the bottom right corner. When the white page pops up, unckeck where it says,  "Notify me when Intrusion Detection blocks connections". However, keep "Turn on Intrusion Detection" checked.
