What is the best paint to use on exterior woodwork - it's a large front window which gets a lot of sun and traffic pollution(dust etc.)

I like the Sikkens system for wood coloured windows and Dulux Weathershield for a white gloss finish. The only problem with both these finishes is that they need to go on bare wood so there is a lot of stripping and sanding to do.

Thanks for the suggestion but the wood is already painted so too much work to sand down.

get a hot air gun and a scraper on it.  doesn't take long to strip them right back.  you'll have to sand them afterwards, but you'll have to sand the paint thats already there anyway, so it's not actually that much extra work

Use a linseed oil paint. Very long lasting and when you need to refresh it, just paint more on...no more sanding...result!!
