are you measuring the cores across?

we use the mm2 measurment for cable csa

Yes it 8mm/2 I believe 10mm/2 is the norm now

im sorry mate, as far as i know and in the industry since 1994 ive never known or seen 8mm2 Cry

how are you comming to 8mm? are you measuring with a ruler or is it written on the cable sheath?

I will have to check the cable, I was under the impression it was 8 mm/2 perhaps its 10mm/2

well, if you could establish that, also, what route does it take? i.e does it run through loft insulation, aproximatly how long for, what size the breaker(MCB) is, is there an RCD.

and also how long the route it takes is.

with that info we can work it out for ya Wink
